Grandparents Rights
Grandparents Rights
It is now possible for grandparents who are experiencing difficulties in seeing their grandchildren to apply to the Court (with permission) for the right to have Contact and seek to be involved in their grandchild’s life/ upbringing.
We can assist the relevant parties involved in the child’s life to explore an amicable resolution which is arguably the best outcome for all to avoid the negative aspects of a prolonged dispute. Whilst Court proceedings should be considered a last resort, we have the specialist legal knowledge and experience to help you should it become necessary to make a Court application.
What must be considered in respect of all matters relating to children is that their welfare is the paramount consideration and the Court will do this by the application of the welfare checklist.
Grandparents can also be asked by Children Services to apply for orders at short notice if they have concerns about the care of the children.
