Ian Carey
Ian set up Careys Law in Reading in 2014, 14 years after qualifying as a solicitor in 2000.
Careys Law aims to provide exceptional service and deliver high-quality, tailored legal solutions for all clients and to become the best law firm in the Thames Valley region.
Ian has represented many clients during his legal career having worked with recognised law firms on the South Coast prior to setting up Careys Law in Reading. He has acted for employers in all sectors of the economy from charities to housing associations, small & medium companies to city & international companies.
Ian has also acted for numerous individuals across a wide spectrum of sectors and roles, including many departing executives in which he has a special interest.
Ian believes that acting for both employers and employees over many years has given him a wider perspective and depth of experience that many other lawyers acting for one side only simply do not possess. This wider perspective gives Ian a significant advantage in resolving disputes whichever side he is acting for.
Ian has also appeared as an employment tribunal advocate with an enviable rate of success against leading barristers/ solicitors in employment law litigation.
Ian’s direct and unstuffy style immediately helps to put his clients at ease and contributes to his ability to generate great outcomes for his clients.
Outside of the law, Ian is known to play the odd gig or two in a band whilst standing behind keyboards (mainly for protection) and is known to occasionally pick up his tennis racquet when the weather permits.
